"Ben is excited to play in the recital.  He has been practicing the new songs you gave him endlessly.  He loves them and is so proud of himself and how he has been playing, which for him is HUGE!  About a month ago he was whining about not wanting to continue with the lessons and before I could have a conversation with you about it he had a lesson with you.  When he got into the car after the lesson I thought he was going to tell me that he was done.  No more lessons.  Instead, he said that the lesson was really fun and that he thinks he will continue.  This was about the time you gave him the Entertainer to play and he has not stopped practicing and making us listen to what he can play since.  He is really enjoying his lessons with you so as his parent I say thank you for keeping him interested and please continue to do what it is that you do.  I love that he is musical and love the sound of the piano in my home. "
